#TBT: A look back at Whipped Cream and Hekler’s ‘Mirrors EP’

Whipped Cream and Hekler released a collaborative EP, Mirrors, last summer off Spirited. We’re revisiting and unearthing this collection of bass gold, now that the genre is diverging at various BPMs.

Teaming up with Hekler, her Mirrors EP was a bit faster paced than what Whipped Cream normally produces, but those gritty bass hits and high-end wobbles are still intact. Leaning more toward trap, the project came with a NEST HQ premiere on the single, “ITCHY HANDS.”

Whipped Cream is a Canadian DJ/producer whose released various times off Skrillex‘s Nest HQ imprint, including her 3-track project, PERSISTENCE. She was making some of that slowed down 90 BPM bass drippiness.

Hekler recently released a remix pack on Never Say Die records from his collaboration with Gladez, “404.” He’s also done official remixes for the likes of Boombox Cartel.
