Eminem cinches UK record for longest run of consecutive number one albums with ‘Kamikaze’
Rap veteran Eminem reclaimed the number one spot on the UK’s albums chart with Kamikaze, the Detroit bar spitter’s ninth studio production. Kamikaze’s peak position on the UK chart, however, signifies a larger career achievement for Eminem, who now boasts the longest run of consecutive number one albums in UK chart history, as per the Official Charts History.
Eminem surpassed fellow chart dominators, Led Zeppelin and ABBA, who respectively earned eight number ones in a row. The Marshall Mathers LP, The Eminem Show, Encore, Relapse, Recovery, The Marshall Mathers LP 2, Curtain Call: The Hits, and Revival previously cozied up in the number one spot before Kamikaze.
Kamikaze, like its name, was dropped as a surprise album by Eminem at the beginning of September. It quickly detonated on social media, courtesy of its numerous scalding attacks on other rappers.
