Lil Wayne announced to replace Childish Gambino at Austin City Limits festival
After adding Phoenix to join its lineup just yesterday, the Austin City Limits festival announced today that indeed Lil Wayne will join Justice, Metallica, Travis Scott and Arctic Monkeys to headline the festival this weekend.
Wayne’s arrival comes immediately after the announcement that, due to a newly obtained foot injury, Childish Gambino needed to postpone the remaining dates on his This Is America tour until later in the year — effectively cancelling his top billing at the Texas festival. It is a timely arrival for Lil Wayne, as the rapper celebrates his 36th birthday with the release of his long-awaited Tha Carter V album drop on the same day.
