Seven Mac Miller projects could land on Billboard 200 chart

After the unexpected death of rapper Mac Miller on Sept. 7, fans and listeners around the world rallied around his music, lifting several of his projects up the Billboard 200 ranks.

Just days before his death, the 26-year-old artist had released his fifth studio album, Swimming. But Swimming isn’t the only project to gain traction on the charts. Fans have returned in droves to beloved compilations like his first album, Blue Slide Park.

Billboard reports that streams of Mac Miller’s music were up 970 percent following his death. On Sept. 7, his catalog of songs earned 32.5 million streams (audio and video combined), which was an astronomical increase from the 3.04 million streams on Sept. 6.

This significant increase in streaming could result in seven of the artist’s projects landing on the Billboard 200 charts, including 2011 mixtape Best Day Ever and 2012’s Macadelic. The chart for Sept. 22 will be announced on Sept. 16.
