Zeds Dead and Snails release slimy dubstep collaboration, ‘Magnets’

Zeds Dead and Snails have released their collaborative squirmer, “Magnets,” featuring Akylla off each artist’s own labels, Deadbeats and Slugz Music, respectively. A lush intro lays the bed for their fellow Canadian’s emotive vocals to easily capture center stage. Arpeggiated synths begin to raise the anticipation, and then the listener is introduced to a snail-infected drum buildup that rises and falls with murky and sludgy quick note synths. The insect-like drop grooves with dubstep percussion, and the second drop plays with the anticipation and rate of slime.

This month, Zeds Dead released a single with DNMO, “We Could Be Kings” featuring Tzar, which has a brighter element when compared to this grimier work with Snails. The mayor of Sluggtopia released the remix album to his The Shell project, which contains reworks from Space Jesus, Kill The Noise, SVDDEN DEATH, Virtual Riot, Kompany, FuntCaseMEGALODON, and more.
