Boys Noize and Mr. Oizo plot Handbraekes comeback on Ed Banger Records
For those that feel increasingly cornered by their playlist rotations or the increasing volume of cookie-cutter dance material — fear not, Boys Noize and Mr. Oizo will soon have the remedy once again. It appears Berlin’s techno don and the venerated French experimentalist are plotting a revival of their Handbraekes side-project, and, with the exception of a rare remix in 2016 for Boys Noize’s “Midnight,” will officially end a near five year hiatus.

The pair previously linked up for two self-titled EPs, debuting in 2012 and following up in 2014, each time via Alex Ridha’s Boysnoize Records. Now, the duo’s impending return will come by way of Oizo’s home imprint, Ed Banger Records. The label confirmed the comeback in a recent social media post, accompanied by a tantalizing caption that promises new Handbraekes “coming soon.” With no definite timeline for Mr. Oizo and Boys Noize’s official return, now seems as good a time as any to revisit Handbraekes’ debut EP until they resurface again soon.
