Chance the Rapper, Travis Scott, John Mayer and more slated for upcoming Mac Miller benefit concert

When Mac Miller passed away on September 7, many were in disbelief. With his recent release of Swimming and his charismatic, exceptional performance on NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert series, it truly seemed like the Pittsburgh rapper was better than he’d ever been.

Mac Miller grew into an artist that exceeded norms. From frat rap jams in sync with half-baked high school plans to a musical ensemble of emotional expression introspective, caring, and perfectionistic. Mac knew his flow deeply and spoke his heart dissecting the good and bad, the love and fear that rules the human condition. Mac lived a life and created music that inspired the courage to look at the truth. When a man lives a life with that intention it is a life worth celebrating, which is exactly what his estate, family, advisers, and the 4 Strikes management team knew to do.

“Mac Miller: A Celebration Of Life” will take place at the Greek Theatre October 31 in Los Angeles, hosting an extraordinary lineup in harmony with Mac Miller’s extraordinary life. Anderson .Paak, Chance the Rapper, SZA, John Mayer, Travis Scott, and more will be performing for the benefit of The Mac Miller Circles Fund which, according to their mission statement, “will provide programming, resources and opportunities to youth from underserved communities, helping them recognize their full potential through exploration in the arts and community building.”

This will surely be an incredibly personal and beautiful event, in the words of Mac Miller himself, “It’s a beautiful thing man… music is a beautiful thing.”

Tickets go on sale October 5.
