Seven months after sexual assault allegations, Datsik may already be eyeing a comeback
Earlier this year, it seemed Datsik‘s fate was perpetually sealed after not only his management team nixed him, but his own label dropped his name from their roster amid a damning swirl of sexual assault allegations. Bookings, collaborations, and distribution networks were all cancelled at once — though now the former Firepower lead, real name Troy Beetles, might be trying to mount a comeback.
Die-hard fans of the disgraced star have recently been disseminating screenshots purportedly from Datsik himself, claiming he’s since gotten sober and is currently plotting his return. Within a recently surfaced, alleged Instagram exchange, the Canadian producer reveals that while he’s been hacking away at new material, he has no plans of a definite release date thus far, and fails to mention which label he intends to share the music with.
While Datsik may not be facing legal proceedings at this time, the news begs the question of whether any plans to re-enter the spotlight amid such weighty allegations would be ill-conceived. Or perhaps even futile altogether. It should also be noted Datsik himself has not substantiated the validity of these photos. See the exchanges below.
