Discwoman’s DJ Haram presents eclectically pleasing new Redbull Swetboxx Minimix [Exclusive]

DJ Haram is carving her niche in the realms of hip-hop and electronica with her bass-laden productions that call upon her heritage and result in an out-of-the-box sound that is near impossible to emulate. Having earned her stripes in New York’s underground as part of the iconic female collective Discwoman and as part of the rap group 700 BLISS, she’s since become known as a gatekeeper of sorts her local scene and reputable music. Not to mention, she’s also a resident over at Rinse FM, paving the way for future generations of cutting-edge talent like herself.

The record purveyor will be heading down to Miami for Redbull Swetboxx — a new venture for the energy drink giant’s events arm that sees it tapping Discwoman, and other queer and queer-friendly groups to throw a party that brings things back to the basics of radical inclusion and dance. Such a gathering is the first of its kind in the city, which isn’t particularly known for its abundance of LGBTQ events. Ahead of her performance, DJ Haram has given a sonic taste of what’s to come in the form of a 30-minute minimix. It spans across a multitude of soundscapes — from bassy to eclectic — and shows off just how diverse her sets could be while remaining cohesive and finely-constructed.
