REZZ unleashes 13 new tracks with Halloween-inspired ‘A Nightmare on REZZ Street’ mix
Whenever REZZ changes her avatar on Twitter, her fans know she’s plotting something new. Last week, she launched a Halloween-themed website that featured ghoulish, REZZ-centric illustrations, with an active countdown to something called “A Nightmare on REZZ Street.” Now that the clock’s reached all zeros, space mom has blessed fans with 13 unreleased IDs, along with visual accompaniment just in time for the spooky holidays.
The mix showcases her signature gritty sound work and haunting chord patterns with audio snippets from classic horror films in-between. There’s even an ID collaboration with 13, a frequent collaborator of hers on tracks such as “DRUGS!” and “The Crazy Ones.” The entire projects brings out a darker side to REZZ, celebrating the aura that’s made her somewhat of a cult leader.
The start of the 30-minute video follows REZZ’s journey through an animated forest of flames, before the iconic scene from “Poltergeist.” The visuals display shots of haunted houses and other various horror imagery.
Arguably her busiest year so far, 2018 marked the release of REZZ’s highly anticipated second album, Certain Kind of Magic.
