Could Seth Troxler’s sleek new DJ bag be the end of the Rimowa cliché as we know it?
It’s the end of the world as we know it, or, it could just be the end of the Rimowa luxury suitcase cliché that’s become virtually synonymous with high fashion and DJ culture for what seems like eons now.
Globe-trotting DJ Seth Troxler would seem to agree with the latter, considering he’s just endorsed the brand new luxury suitcase line from European Horizn Studios.
It might seem like a bold move, especially given Rimowa’s clout and reputation, but even after a quick glance at the up-and-coming luggage specs, there does appear to be a pretty convincing argument for the pivot.
Horizon’s slick black Pro Model ST DJ Case is not only good-looking, but it’s also durable, made with an aerospace-grade polycarbonate hard shell and built with its audience in mind. The suitcase features multiple sets of padded internal bags to keep pedals, controllers, and accessories protected and even has a removable record stand for DJs to set up on the fly. As Troxler points out, the bag also has an optional GPS tracker — so you’ll probably see fewer DJs complaining on Twitter about their lost luggage. If that’s not a win for everyone we don’t know what is.
