SYN flips Marilyn Manson’s ‘This Is The New Shit’ into heavy-metal bass mayhem
SYN has flipped one of Marilyn Manson‘s most popular songs, “This Is The New Shit,” turning the audio on it’s head from a heavy-metal, head-banging, demonic track to a heavy dubstep, head-banging, demonic modern edition. He excellently exemplifies the antichrist superstar’s horrific atmosphere through grumbling, low-octave distorted guitar, screeching synths, and modern bass percussion. The buildup showcases Manson’s already-horrific voice pitching upwards, dropping into that varied, distorted bass with more versatility than the standard distorted guitar.
The space between dubstep and heavy metal is a lightly covered veil of guitars and bands versus synths, turntables, and DJs. The Bloody Beetroots are a good example of that crossover. REZZ has often played her revision of “This Is The New Shit” at her shows, further proving the prince of darkness’ influence in the heavy bass space.
