Kraftwerk announced as Bluedot Festival’s 2019 headliner
Organizers of UK’s Bluedot Festival will leave the headlining duties to Kraftwerk for the event’s 2019 installment, slated for July 18-21 at Chesire’s Jodrell Bank Observatory. Now in its fourth year of production, the multifaceted music, science, and culture festival has plans to unveil the very first wave of its 2019 lineup come January, but for now confirms the electronic group as the first headliner. The 2018 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nominees will perform at the festival’s main Lovell Stage on July 20.
Kraftwerk can be expected to present a highly stylized viewing experience, differentiated by its 3D visuals. The Bluedot booking represents Kraftwerk’s first headlining UK appearance. Kraftwerk, however, have been far from idle — the electronic fixtures recently played a short series of UK theater shows at the Bilbao Guggenheim, New York’s Museum of Modern Art, and London’s Tate Modern Turbine Hall. Bluedot will release tickets to its 2019 affair in both weekend and single-day options, which will go on sale at 10 a.m. on November 23, here.
