Zomboy does his part to keep bass music fresh with new release ‘Lone Wolf’
His latest is titled “Lone Wolf.” The track immediately introduces a catchy synth progression that lures the listener into its sonorous grasp. Instrumentals build over the top of the intro, ultimately falling into a heavy dubstep drop that would meld swimmingly in a high intensity live set. The heavy bassline is aptly able to maintain the melodic elements of the synth progression well into the production’s conclusion.
The producer spoke to Billboard about the state of bass music, and how he is trying to stay unique in a space that is slowly becoming oversaturated.
“The bass music scene, however wonderful and broad, can often get a little tired,” Zomboy says. “This is only to be expected when something this popular attracts so many new and hungry producers. In the current climate a lot of the groove and energy has been substituted for a harder, simpler and more aggressive sound.”
