Exclusive: Netsky previews new EP with ‘Voodoo Magic’
Belgian drum & bass powerhouse Netsky has blown fans away with his versatility in 2018. He brought summertime sweetness with his A.CHAL collaboration, “Téquila Limonada” and took things up a notch via a powerful collaboration with David Guetta, “Ice Cold.”
Wrapping up this successful year, Netsky has just one more surprise in store: a five-track EP called Abbot Kinney. The EP features collaborations with Stargate and 1991, along with features from Kyle, Toulouse, and Jozzy. The EP kicks off with “Voodoo Magic,” setting the scene for the swanky tunes to come. A breezy synth melody ushers in the easygoing tone of the introductory track, as Netsky layers warm harmonies behind Toulouse’s vocals. While “Voodoo Magic” certainly isn’t lacking in bass, its carefree atmosphere blissfully leads the listener into the EP’s remaining four tracks.
“Collaborating with Stargate in their incredible studio was an amazing experience, it’s not far from Abbot Kinney Blvd. and that area inspired so much of this music,” Netsky says of the new EP. “It is my absolute favorite spot in LA and felt like the perfect title for this EP, matching the vibes we all felt while in the studio during that time.”
