Official details of 50th anniversary Woodstock event leaked

Rumors began reverberating around the music community in late November of a new Woodstock gathering in 2019 following 1969 organizer Michael Lang’s statement that plans were in the works. The event comes in perfect time to celebrate the legendary festival’s 50th anniversary, and thus far is rumored to be hosting the likes of Katy Perry, Ariana Grande, Swedish House Mafia, and even Daft Punk on its lineup — according to a proposal unearthed by notorious Twitter account Festive Owl. The event was purportedly named Journey On.

Following intense speculation, a representative from INVNT — one of the partner promoters of the alleged event — reached back out to Festive Owl to fully confirm its existence and provide a few more bits of information to help quell the the feverish hype. For one, its name will not be Journey One, nor Woodstock. It will be something different altogether. Additionally, the event isn’t affiliated with Michael Lang or any of the original orchestrators of the original Woodstock brand. Live Nation, INVNT, and the Bethel Woods Center for the Arts are the partners in the venture, which will be held August 16-18.

Stay tuned for more announcements.
