Skrillex’s studio sessions with Ty Dolla $ign, From First to Last, and more confirmed
Perfect Sound Studios revealed that Skrillex has been busy in the studio with a variety of collaborators. In a post from the lavish Hollywood Hills studio founded by Jake Rodenhouse, it’s indicated that Skrillex has been working on a side project with his old band, From First to Last. The OWSLA helmer also brought Frank Dukes and Ty Dolla $ign to studio sessions, along with Shawn Mendes.
This summer, Skrillex released “Surrender” with his former post-punk band, From First to Last, taking the lead on vocals. Skrillex has been taking more of a behind the console role in 2018, nabbing production credits with K-pop star Key, Mariah Carey, Elohim, Kelsey Lu, and a feature on the Kingdom Hearts soundtrack. Then, following his long-awaited, “SICKO MODE” remix, the Skrillex launched a cryptic website overhaul making fans wonder what’s coming next from the dance music icon. Whatever it is, lots of new music is underway.
