Martin Garrix recently teamed up with GQ to go undercover and answer his fans’ questions online. As expected, there are moments of gold throughout the seven-minute compilation where he goes on a variety of platforms undercover, including Quora, YouTube, Reddit, Twitter, and Yahoo Answers, among others. When asked whether he would ever do a collaboration with The Chainsmokers, the producer responds after a long pause and admits a collaboration could be “aggressive” given they both started in the club and festival scene as they made their way up into notoriety.
Viewers also learn that his dream mentor is Calvin Harris because everything he touches “turns to gold.” Unsurprisingly, Reddit yielded a fan’s question about a moment in “High On Life” featuring Bonn where the transition out of the chorus does not match the rest of the song. Garrix admits this was a render mistake, and he had hoped no one would notice given it was so small.
The undeniably entertaining video gives fans insights they likely did not know about the producer before and is great for a few laughs.
