Chris Brown is suing the woman who accused him of rape
Determined to clear his name, Chris Brown is pursuing a defamation lawsuit, officially filed Thursday, against the woman who accused him of raping her in a Parisian hotel room.
According to files obtained by People, Brown is taking his case to French courts on behalf of the “false accusations” the still-yet-to-be-identified woman brought against him on January 18. Brown’s lawyer, Raphael Chiche, recently spoke with TMZ to profess Brown’s innocence, pointing out that no criminal charges are currently pending against Brown for this allegation.
“Chris Brown is free…,” said Chiche. “He vigorously challenges the charges against him.”
Brown was released from police custody Wednesday on behalf of both aggravated rape and drug-related complaints. However, Parisian police are still investigating the matter. It should be noted that Brown’s criminal history suggests a pattern of violent behavior, including his 2009 assault of then-girlfriend Rihanna.
