Diplo teases upcoming Major Lazer and J Balvin collaboration in 2019

Between LSD, Major Lazer, Silk City, and Diplo‘s solo endeavors, Thomas Wesley Pentz Jr. is second to none when it comes to an exhaustive amount of creative output through multiple projects that have yielded chart-topping hits in 2018. The California producer recently took to Instagram to showcase his year end review, which includes a collage of over 30 releases he has put out over the course of 2018. Of course, the producer’s year end review was not without an additional post teasing what is to come from him in 2019 as well.

In a new post featuring Walshy Fire and Latin pop superstar J Balvin, Diplo captions, “We got something very big planned for 2019 @jbalvin @majorlazer.” Colombian singer J Balvin has become one of the most streamed artists in the world, and he has taken the American pop scene by storm having collaborated with the likes of Cardi B, Bad Bunny, Ariana Grande, and even David Guetta.

Should Major Lazer link up with J Balvin in 2019, it would not be their first collaboration, having previously released “Buscando Huellas” with Jay Sean and a “Lean On” remix together. It is left to be seen what language the impending collaboration will be in or what genre it might turn out to be, but with Major Lazer potentially calling it quits in 2019, this certainly gives fans something to look forward to in the new year.
