Gorgon City ring in 2019 with new club track, ‘Lick Shot’
2018 was a killer year for Gorgon City, as they released their first studio album since 2014 with Escape. The album—with star features like Duke Dumont and JP Cooper—was followed up by an “Escape Live Tour” that showed the London-based duo in a whole new light. To finish out the year, Matt and Kye returned with a two-hour edition of Kingdom Radio on London’s Rinse FM. Now, Gorgon City’s decided to capitalize on the momentum with their first track of 2019, “Lick Shot.”
Released on the duo’s very own REALM imprint, a platform utilized primarily for underground/club-geared tracks through Virgin EMI Records, “Lick Shot” is the perfect treat for long-time Gorgon City fans. The production fuses elements of UK-grime and melodic house sounds, with pleasant hook leads and some stimulating deep bass on the drop.
Gorgon City will hit a few club dates before an appearance at Coachella 2019 in April.
