What So Not and Herizen seek clarity in new music video for single ‘We Can Be Friends’

Hot off the heels of his new collaboration, “We Can Be Friends,” alongside Herizen, What So Not comes through with the official music video accompanying the soothing new tune. Both artists star in the video, which features emotive cuts of the two anxiously juxtaposed against one another as they translate the song’s sonic journey to a visual medium. Ultimately the song is a story about two people breaking up and trying to be friends, and the video artfully takes the viewer through that process.

The video is a neo-noir breakup story saturated in buzzing neon as What So Not’s pensive, intriguing beat accentuates the story’s narrative. Justin Frick and Corrin Evans co-directed the new feature, describing their vision as, “A visual landscape of reflections, projections and distortions to capture the feelings of unclarity and confusion that often plague us during times of pain… the inability to see things as they truly are. In the video, What So Not and Herizen are lost in their own minds and images of what could have been – or perhaps what actually is being experienced in another dimension.” See the video for “We Can Be Friends” below.
