Hulu undercuts Netflix with surprise delivery of their own Fyre Festival documentary
Netflix has been building hype around its original documentary, Fyre: The Greatest Party That Never Happened, since dropping its trailer earlier in the month. Viewers have since been anxiously waiting to view the mishaps that ultimately led to the biggest event downfall in recent history. Unfortunately, Hulu threw a monkey wrench into their streak with the release their own documentary on the festival, unannounced and just four days before the Netflix premiere.
Titled Fyre Fraud, Hulu’s documentary also documents the misfortune of attendees who looked to attend the Billy McFarland organized, Ja Rule endorsed luxury festival. Created by Emmy-nominated and Peabody-winning directors Jenner Furst and Julia Willoughby, the film and it’s release are a powerful move – exposing the shady business practices of McFarland while beating Netflix to the punch with this highly anticipated story. The documentary’s trailer can be found below.
