Louis Futon inches towards album release with cosmically colorful ‘Supposed to Be’
Louis Futon recently rendezvoused with LA vocalist DUCKWRTH for one more dose of blissful beat release, “Supposed to Be,” before Futon’s full-length album Way Back When officially arrives.
“Supposed to Be” is found in a familiar vein as its Way Back When predecessors (i.e., “Restless Sea” and “Royal Blood“), with choral-like vocals front and center, propelled by the syrupy BAEGOD. DUCKWRTH, who tapped Futon to produce “HELLO GOD” off the former’s An EXTRA UUGLY Mixtape, wastes no time, enticing the track with his potently playful rhymes. Smacking percussion, a deliberate, punchy beat, and flittering synth emissions make for whimsical production that could be breezily blended into the folds of any downtempo party dynamic.
Way Back When is due in full Feb. 22.
