Marshmello, Zedd, Calvin Harris secure multiple iHeartRadio Music Awards nominations [full list of nominees]

The sprawling list of 2019 iHeartRadio Music Awards nominees arrives ahead of this year’s awards ceremony, which is slated to return to Los Angeles on March 14 to celebrate the artists making the biggest impact on its platfoms. A reliable barometer of both streaming and chart influence, the 2019 iHeartRadio Music Awards unsurprisingly see industry dominators Drake, Cardi B, Post Malone, Kendrick Lamar, Shawn Mendes, Ariana Grande, and more tapped for awards.

The iHeartRadio nominations evidence Cardi’s white knuckle grip on hip-hop superstardom this past year — the female rapper received nods for more than a dozen awards, spanning “Female Artist of the Year” and “Hip-Hop Artist of the Year,” among other categories. Drake will likewise spar for iHeartRadio Awards across multiple categories, including “Song of the Year” and “Hip-Hop Song of the Year” for the inescapable, diamond-certifiedGod’s Plan,” and “Male Artist of the Year,” to name a few.

Dance producers also find representation among the list of iHeartRadio Awards nominees. Marshmello earned nominations in five categories, leading the electronic music charge: “Best New Pop Artist,” “Producer of the Year,” “Alternative Rock Song of the Year” for “Happier,” and “Dance Artist of the Year.” Two ‘Mello productions, “Happier” and “Friends,” will be considered for “Dance Song of the Year.”

While Marshmello sweeps nominations in the dance realm, the impact of Zedd‘s collaboration with Grey and Maren Morris, “The Middle,” continues to be felt. “The Middle” will compete for “Song of the Year,” “Best Collaboration,” and “Dance Song of the Year.” Zedd goes on to individually garner iHeartRadio Music Award nominations for “Dance Artist of the Year,” a category that includes Calvin Harris, Kygo, Marshmello, and The Chainsmokers. Not to be neglected, Calvin Harris ‘funk wav bounces’ his way through several award categories as well, to surface not only under “Dance Artist of the Year,” but “Dance Song of the Year” and “Best Music Video” for “One Kiss,” as well.
