In the midst of sexual assault accusation, Towkio denies allegations, deletes Twitter account
Chicago-based rapper and prominent member of Vic Mensa’s SaveMoney hip-hop collective, Towkio, has denied the sexual assault allegations brought against him Sunday by Twitter user @pppermint. The woman claims she was sexually coerced by the rapper, real name Preston Oshita, in January of 2016.
In a since-deleted tweet, prior to deactivating his Twitter account entirely, Oshita acknowledged engaging in what he claims was an ongoing, consensual relationship reaching back into 2014. He went as far as to say that the relationship often extended itself to multiple additional partners, a detail he purportedly added in hopes to “provide context.”
In the replies to @pppermint’s initial tweet, one user alluded to a tweet made by Towkio circa 2011, within which he wrote “We low-key rape women.”
