The music video for Mike Posner’s most recent single, ‘Move On,’ is a return to the raw soul of visual production [Watch]

Mike Posner offered listeners a taste of his forthcoming studio album, A Real Good Kid, through poignant single, “Move On.” The highly personal tune deviates from the upbeat stylings of previous Posner releases like “I Took A Pill in Ibiza” to instead expose a rawer view of the artist and deeper diversity in his songwriting. As anticipated by the track’s title, the tune addresses the difficulty inherent in healing, and while lyrics like “I feel pain I don’t want to” tap into the production’s soul, it’s ultimately the “Move On” visual that will elicit the most emotion in viewers.

The music video for “Move On” places footage of Posner’s father, who died after being diagnosed with terminal brain cancer, alongside shots of late producer, Avicii. Posner additionally intersperses textual clips are also interspersed throughout the video segments, with relatably anguished messages like “I want to feel good” being expressed. A Real Good Kid arrives on January 18, and Posner is set to take a notably out-of-the-box promotional approach when it comes to the LP’s marketing: he’ll be taking a 9-month walk across the length of the nation, starting at the Atlantic Ocean, and concluding at the Pacific.
