Technics reveal the new SL-1200 MK7 turntable, an introduction to the new standard

Panasonic’s Technics announced the release of a spin on their classic direct drive turntable, the SL-1200 MK7 at the CES trade show in Las Vegas. The audio equipment subsidiary of the hi-fi product company looks to re-standardize the DJ Turntable whose lineage dates back to 1972. The adjustments to improved tracking, a new stylus illuminator, and a reverse play function are some of the major changes made to the product. When asked about the minor improvements from the MK6 back in 2008, according to Mixmag, Technics mentioned “We wouldn’t dream of drastically changing one of the most renowned products in music history.”

MK’s finish is matte black and features an all-black tonearm. Audiophiles can learn more in this in-depth description of the product.
