Whethan reverts to old sounds in new track, ‘GOING UP’

Whethan ended 2018 with a bang, concluding his “Life of a Wallflower” tour in October and following it up with a debut EP of the same name. However, Ethan Snoreck wants no breaks, releasing his first original track since the EP (preceded by a trap rework of Travis Scott‘s “Sick Mode”) entitled “GOING UP.”

“For my oldschool heads in 2019,” the Chicago-based DJ writes in the SoundCloud description, likely indicating a detour through his earlier styles of future bass synth-bounces. The original work starts with a rapid assortment of melodies and harmonizing leads, accompanied by quick drum hits and ultimately building into a synth-heavy trap drop. Acting strictly as an instrumental, this track is the true essence of a future bass flip, a structure Whethan built his sound on.
