Diplo confirms headlining slot at Stage Coach’s first afterparty
“Random white dude be everywhere” has rung especially true for Diplo as of late. Outside his position as a bass, hip-hop, and EDM trailblazer, the iconic artist spent the past year exploring new sonic realms through his pop-oriented LSD project with Sia and Labrinth, as well as disco with Mark Ronson as part of Silk City. His work under the latter moniker earned him a Grammy. Finally, he was also announced for Damian Lazarus’ Get Lost Miami event, where he’ll be spinning a special deep set.
Diplo can now add “country festival” to his expansive list of ventures, as he’s just announced via Twitter that he’ll be headlining Stage Coach’s first-ever afterparty. Stage Coach is of course Golden Voice’s Coachella sister event and the biggest country music event in the world, drawing thousands of fans to Indio Valley in April. Though Diplo appearing at a country show seems a bit far-fetched, it actually makes perfect sense in thinking about it.
