Firefly Festival gets a $1 million camping upgrade

The three-day camping music festival returns to The Woodlands June 21-23 in Dover, Delaware with 2019 headliners Panic! At the Disco, Travis Scott, Post Malone, and more. Firefly Festival has partnered with AEG, dedicating an investment of $1 million into improving and crafting the camping experience.

The upgrade includes additions to the Great Atlantic Campout—comprised of North and South Camping—both of which will have Hubs containing a farmer’s market, general store, bar, daily yoga, food and craft vendors, and late-night silent disco. Both camp grounds’ stages will also receive makeovers for bigger stages, better production, and higher tier talent and host pre-parties featuring Louis the Child, a DJ set from Gryffin, Saint Motel, and more.

More infrastructure changes include luxurious, individual permanent showers and a new Spruce Up Lounge with space for blow dryers, flat irons, and full mirrors. Investments will also go to building six new Ranger Stations that will have communal grills, a campfire, water refill, charging stations, restrooms, and running water. More importantly, the new Ranger Stations are strategically located so campers will walk a maximum of five minutes to reach the nearest station. Firefly director Stephanie Mezzano states that, “The point of making these investments and upgrading it is so that people do feel like there’s a bigger community being built and it’s not just about who’s playing the lineup.”
