JOYRYDE releases personal tune, ‘IM GONE,’ announces LP signed to newly launched HARD Recs

The wait for JOYRYDE‘s album has felt like an eternity. But, there’s finally a proverbial light at the end of the tunnel. He began teasing the first single off the upcoming LP just after President’s Day, also confirming that his album is still on its way. “IM GONE” has now been let out into the world to offer a taste of the musical journey in store for the burgeoning producer who took the EDM world by storm in 2016.

The track carries a heavy story behind it. “I started it while recovering from back surgery on maximum strength opioid pills,
explained JOYRYDE in a press release.  “Some parts I don’t remember writing. On those days, I realized what it was like to feel my mental health slipping.”

Indeed, it’s easy to hear these themes in the tune, whose aggressive words and violent bass house frame contrast with emotive piano progressions and bouts of orchestral strings for a tune that manages to depict his illustrate his inner turmoil in a club friendly way. The darker themes end happily: following the writing of “IM GONE” came the rest of the album. It title and release date remain a secret for now, but it seems we’re in for quite the ride.

HARD also has something to celebrate with this album, as it marks the official launch of their HARD Recs label. With a commitment toward preserving the brand’s ethos of curating artists on the cutting edge of hip-hop and electronica, the label is primed to house some top artists in its future. Says Insomniac boss Pasquale Rotella of the launch:

“Last year was massive for HARD and Insomniac Music Group, so it was a natural progression to get both teams working together to build a proper label experience. I’m excited for the roster of exceptional talent we’ll be curating for HARD Recs, and JOYRYDE is the perfect person to kick things off.”
