Shlohmo debuts new single, ‘The End’ ahead of forthcoming album, shares tracklist
At the start of 2019, Shlohmo grabbed the attention of fans and the industry with a cryptic social media post foreshadowing new work from the WeDidIt founder. Having followed through on that promise, Shlohmo has now released his new single, “The End,” which is set to appear on the producer’s upcoming album of the same name.
Produced with toy drum machines from Korg and Teenage Engineering, the track captures Shlohmo’s notoriously dark sound while adding a cool, hazy feel to the track. With distorted guitar and eerily innocent melodies sitting atop a crisp bass line, “The End” may be a teaser for what’s to come from Shlohmo next album. Due out March 22 on WeDidIt and Friends of Friends, the album will be his first full-length project since 2015. The tracklist (found below) hints at no collaborations, and, in Shlohmo’s words, “is vaguely about the end of the world, but from the viewpoint of smoking on the couch during the extinction event. Reading a nice book while the meteor hits.”
