Bill Nye to host opening ceremony at EDC Las Vegas
Who better than Bill Nye to inaugurate this year’s kinetic energy-themed EDC Las Vegas than a true modern-day Renaissance man, TV personality, and unequivocal “Science Guy” himself? Nye and Insomniac Founder/CEO Pasquale Rotella will convene Friday, May 17 under the Electric Sky for the world-revered electronic fest’s Opening Ceremony at the cosmicMEADOW stage.
“Think of the potential,” says Nye in a recent EDC release. “Hundreds of thousands of people moving their
bodies, freeing their minds, and dancing to music under the glow of spectacular light. We’ll convert all this potential to a carnival of kinetic energy!”
The EDCLV 2019 will run May 17-19, at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway: the immaculately curated festival’s home since 2011. Headliners have yet to be announced, though last year’s front runners included Armin van Buuren, Zedd, Tiësto, Kaskade, and Tchami, just to name a few.
With an official Science Guy stamp of approval, electricity isn’t likely to be in short supply in Vegas this spring. Tickets to EDCLV are available here.
