Dillon Francis is working on ‘This Mixtape Is Fire 2’
Celebrations are in order; Dillon Francis has confirmed that This Mixtape Is Fire 2 is underway. After a fan tweeted him asking for the song played in his Snapchat story, Francis responded simply with, “New music for This Mixtape Is Fire 2…”
He has since deleted the tweet, but not before the fans caught wind. Now the EDM community is as excited as ever for a nostalgic taste of some old Dillon Francis.
The moombahton producer released This Mixtape Is Fire in 2015 to positive reception, with tracks featuring collaborations with Calvin Harris, Skrillex, Bro Safari, Kygo and Chromeo. While Francis’ signature humor still makes its appearance on the EP, he seriously reels it in in favor of showcasing his versatility from producing heaters to more chilled-out tracks like “Coming Over.”
Since This Mixtape is Fire, Francis has ventured from his early signature moombahton—exploring Latin influences on his second studio album, Wut Wut, and softer sounds on “Fix Me” with Cuco—but evidently still can put out shenanigans with antics like “EDM O’ CLOCK” and “Catchy Song.” This Mixtape Is Fire 2 could mark a much-anticipated return to Francis’ early sound.
