Malaa returns with teched-out single, ‘Addiction’
French house producer Malaa has been laying low for the past few months after a successful 2018 No Redemption EP and accompanying tour with fellow CONFESSION label-mate and Pardon My French member Tchami. The masked artist has now dropped “Addiction,” his first release of 2019 on Tchami’s CONFESSION imprint.
Joining the ranks of EDM tracks about cocaine, “Addiction” pushes a dark and sexy tech-house vibe that fits synonymously with Malaa’s existing portfolio of warehouse heaters. Equipped with a deep bassline loop and monotonous narration of coke addiction symptoms, “Addiction” builds its narrative with a classic house structure packed with vocal chops, buzzy synths, and a nicely layered set of percussive elements. Minimalist and low-key without compromising on production, “Addiction” comes forth as a solid first release of the year by Malaa.
