Steve Aoki’s newest signing is from Carl of ‘The Walking Dead’
New Noise was launched by Steve Aoki in 2015 as a platform for more eclectic works by under-recognized acts. It’s since become a widely respected free label, helping careers of artists like Jayeeoh, KLAXX, and beyond. Now, the imprint is also playing host to a noteworthy character: The Walking Dead’s Carl, played by Chandler Riggs. The actor seems to have fallen for EDM, and is now trying his hand at gentle bass music under the moniker Eclipse.
“Endeavor” takes on an emotive air, with brooding melodies and synthwork reminiscent of French electro in the aughts built into a subtle, trap-esque structure with softened drops. The track might not be a typical “head banger,” but it definitely makes for a captivating listen and has just enough energy to elicit wild reactions at parties regardless.
