The “thank u, next” singer consummated her status as the youngest artist to ever headline the event on April 14, where she appeared at the festival’s namesake Coachella Stage with all of the musical pomp and circumstance that those in attendance and live streamers alike expected. Grande dug deep into her catalogue, to deliver live renditions of fan favorites like “Dangerous Woman” and “Bang Bang,” while rotating between sweetener and thank u, next staples.
It’s certainly safe to say that the record-smashing singer was far from lonely on the large Coachella Stage. Rap’s self-proclaimed Barbie Nicki Minaj also enjoyed some stage time alongside Grande, to perform “Bang Bang” and “Side to Side.” Diddy and Mase showed up to cover The Notorious B.I.G.‘s 1997 single, “Mo Money Mo Problems” with Grande, which functioned as a live tribute not only to Biggie and 2Pac, but to late rapper, Mac Miller.
