They say everything is bigger in Texas. They’re right. Lonestar state native Riot Ten proves this true for music as well with his new “Hype Or Die: Sun City” EP on Dim Mak. The six-track EP isn’t for the feint of heart. It’s heart-stopping. Jumping right out the gate with “Los Pinches,” Riot Ten doesn’t give you a chance to catch your breath. The entire EP is absolutely relentless, there’s cumbia mixed with industrial heavy-metal synths, a hip hop inspired assault, and a closing track that lets you put your guard down. But by that point you’ll have bass PTSD.
