Tyler, the Creator hits his first No. 1 album with ‘IGOR’

After dropping his sixth studio album IGOR earlier this month, Tyler, the Creator has topped the Billboard 200 albums chart, beating out DJ Khaled‘s Father of Asahd to take the No. 1 spot, earning the former Odd Future frontman his first No.1 album. IGOR moved 165,000 equivalent album units —comprised of 74,000 album sales and 122.9 million streams— while Father of Asahd trailed behind at 136,000 equivalent units. IGOR has outperformed Tyler’s 2017 LP Flower Boy, which sold 106,000 album equivalents in its first week and fell 1,000 units short of No. 1, which went to Lana Del Rey’s Lust for Life.

The “Earfquake” rapper took to Twitter to thank his fans and express his gratitude for the support on IGOR. Reportedly, Tyler, the Creator became the first solo rapper in history to have a No. 1 album he produced and arranged by himself with no co-production credits.
