EDX crafts house-leaning Orbit Playlist ahead of 2019 NO XCUSES boat party

EDX, the musical mastermind behind one of the electronic genre’s most easily recognizable remixes—the tropically inflected take on Sam Feldt’s iconic “Show Me Love”—offers his listeners an opportunity to make like his April single and “Get Off The Grid” via the producer’s NO XCUSES boat party. Hosted by Crust Nation, the event will unfold atop a Hornblower cruise ship on June 15. New York’s metropolitan skyline will serve as the backdrop to EDX’s ambient set.

The dynamic house music tastemaker highlights 15 of his current choice cuts ahead of the event, in an Orbit Playlist created exclusively for Dancing Astronaut. The collection of smooth flowing selects commences with EDX’s “Off The Grid,” and transitions thereafter into CamelPhat’s “Just Chill Mix” of their cerebral club filler, “Breathe.” EDX issues nods to Dombresky and Nora En Pure, with the inclusion of “Simple Hit” and “Birthright,” respectively. A beat driven highlight of the Orbit Playlist is Kaskade and Gorgon City’s recent release, “Go Slow.” EDX deviates from the commercial mainstream in his integration of productions from Apres, Fort Arkansas, Troste, Yves Larock, and more.

NO XCUSES is EDX’s annual installment in the disc-jockey and Crust Nation’s collaborative history of boat party production. The three-story ship offers ticket purchasers a multi-floor dancing experience. Dubbed “The Lounge,” the bottom deck will shuffle between house, deep-house, techno, and trance. Meanwhile, the middle deck will be the “Latin Floor,” and the open air deck the “Main Stage,” subject to EDX’s takeover.

The rain or shine event will board at 1:00 PM. The boat will depart at 2:30 PM. Those unable to attend summer 2018’s EDX-led Hornblower affair won’t want to miss out for a second consecutive year: grab tickets to No XCUSES, here.
