Skrillex and Chance The Rapper’s management move into canned spirits game with launch of Lil Fizz

Recently, when JAY-Z was crowned hip-hop’s first billionaire, the estimated totals of his investments surfaced, revealing that the mogul has more than five times the amount of money invested in his alcohol ventures than he does in his own music catalog. If nothing else, it proves alcohol can be lucrative as hell, but it may also mean that the artists and business managers we revere for their passion and creativity have more to offer than just the next record or tour.

Enter Tim Smith and Pat Corcoran, two of the most respected artist managers in the game—the brawn behind Skrillex, Chance The Rapper, and others. The pair linked to create No Fine Print in February 2018 alongside Chicago sommelier Ryan Arnold, diversifying their respective portfolios by launching an unconventional wine brand that doesn’t take things too seriously. Now, they’re hitting the wave of canned spirits with Lil Fizz.

Lil Fizz (12% ABV) is a canned white wine, made from a blend of sauvignon blanc, chardonnay and pinot noir grapes, crisply carbonated and primed for the summer swelter.

Corcoran explains in a press statement,

“Summers in Chicago are short, so you gotta take advantage of every minute you can being outside and with friends. Whether it’s a concert or backyard BBQ, the last thing you want is a hot drink, which is why the can and the volume work so well.”

Ahead of Lil Fizz’ debut, the wine brand has carved out a reputation for procuring a libation that’s free of any pretentious connotations or ego. So while Smith and Corcoran may acknowledge the best parts of JAY-Z’s playbook, their product will never be the next Armand de Brignac champagne—and they’re more than fine with that.
