Martin Garrix reveals his uplifting Ushuaïa ID, ‘These Are the Times,’ in collaboration with AXE
On the evening of July 4 during Martin Garrix’s long-awaited return to the stage following a near six-week performing hiatus due to an acute ankle injury, the Dutch superstar crowd-tested an unreleased production during his Ushuaïa Ibiza residency.
The animated ID was hastily met with widespread fan support and anticipation as speculation arose that it would be the soundtrack to Garrix’s forthcoming partnership with AXE body spray. After serving up the tune as a staple piece in every performance in the weeks following, Garrix has officially unveiled his new venture as he joins forces with the men’s hygiene company for “These Are the Times” featuring vocalist JRM.
Faultlessly falling in line alongside Garrix’s recent discography of more benign and pop-leaning creations, “These Are the Times” is yet another invigorating breath of fresh air from the 23-year-old producer. Adorned in his signature toybox elements with a seemingly Avicii-influenced progressive approach, coupled with inspiriting lyrics from JRM, Garrix lengthens his comprehensive archive of summer offerings. With a forthcoming appearance in Belgium this Friday for his STMPD Records stage performance at Tomorrowland, there is little doubt that Garrix will introduce the dance music world to more new music from his ever-extending sonic reservoir.
