‘Old Town Road’ remains at No. 1 on Billboard for a record-breaking 16th week

Lil’ Nas X’s “Old Town Road” is still sitting pretty in the No. 1 spot on the Billboard chart for 16 weeks running, an accomplishment achieved only twice before by Mariah Carey and Luis Fonsi.

While the country hip-hop crossover is tied for most weeks at No. 1, “Old Town Road” holds the record for longest-running hip-hop track to be No. 1 on the chart, ahead of Wiz Khalifa’s “See You Again,” Black Eyed Peas’ “Boom Boom Pow,” and Eminem’s “Lose Yourself,” all staking claim at 13 weeks atop the chart.

Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus are showing no signs of relenting from their throne, as the artists are staying relevant by remixing the song to include stars like Mason Ramsey and Young Thug.
