Those who’ve had 2018’s SOLACE on heavy rotation have reason to rejoice: fresh RÜFÜS DU SOL material is upon us. The acclaimed Australian outfit brings listeners a full hour of cerebral house cuts in a brand new mix produced exclusively for the triple j Mix Up series. RÜFÜS DU SOL issue a memorable nod to SOLACE’s “Treat You Better” with Purple Disco Machine’s remix of the track, kicking the hour in gear.

The electronic trio highlight an array of productions from fellow melodic mavens. Original productions from Olivier Giacomotto, Lunar Plane, and KH figure in the mix, as do a myriad of different remixes, like Kynan Cosma’s take on Carlo Whale’s “Alnitak,” and Rigopolar’s rework of Futuristant’s “The Future Dance.” RÜFÜS DU SOL lend a sense of mystique to the mix with the inclusion of a new ID towards the end of the effort. Characteristically mellifluous, the mix both begins and closes with SOLACE track listings: Yotto’s “Dawn” revamp of RÜFÜS DU SOL’s “Underwater” provides a polished finale.
