Zac Brown Band taps Skrillex for sixth studio album, ‘The Owl’

OWSLA boss Skrillex has been on the move racking up a relentless number of production work in the form of everything—from solo releases, to collaborations, features, and more. Within the summer of 2019 alone, the powerhouse joined forces with TroyBoi on “WARLORDZ“, lent his hand to Lykke Li’s “two nights part ii” with Ty Dolla $ign, and dropped a twofer Show Tracks. As of the past year, Skrillex has no doubt heavily resurfaced with his electronic pursuit, specifically in the form of Dog Blood activity. He has also continued to traverse musical genres, with his scope of work including pop co-writing credits with Ed Sheeran on “Way to Break My Heart.” Now, his latest venture comes in the form of Zac Brown Band‘s sixth studio album, The Owl.

Alongside Skrillex, Zac Brown have also enlisted pop mega-producer Max Martin, Benny Blanco, Ryan Tedder, and Shawn Mendes for co-writing duties on the forthcoming LP. The group promise “something for everyone” on The Owl, describing it as “exciting, raw, and unexpected”.

“We are always pushing ourselves as musicians by blurring genre boundaries and incorporating all kinds of music we are personally inspired by, elevating what we are capable as a group”, stated Zac Brown.

The Owl will be released on September 20.
