Montreal’s Piknic Électronik welcomes Loco Dice, Öona Dahl and more for its 17th season

Tucked away within Montreal’s parc Jean-Drapeau is the seasonal infrastructure to Piknic Électronik, familiar terrain to the city’s steady events landscape. The series is no stranger to the area, returning for their 17th summer takeover on the island. The weekly Sunday sessions fulfills a variety of purposes, combining the facets of small-scale outdoor music festival with the appeal of a casual, and undemanding date in the park for many. On the other hand, those looking to continue their weekend festivities have found their calling, as they’re joined by thousands of like-minded individuals with the dancefloor in mind.

Running from May 19-September 29, Piknic combines their weekly curated programming with a handful of standalone “Off-Piknic” events to prime their selection of seasonal bookings. Each Sunday throughout the season welcomes thousands of attendees to the dancefloor in the airy openings of parc Jean-Drapeau. The 2019 summer lineup has thus far seen a diverse arrangement of artists, allowing visitors to discover and embrace local and international talent. The first three weekends brought out the musical prowess of Öona Dahl, the return of Hernan Cattaneo, and Loco Dice—three renowned artists within the community.

Closing out with their season finale on September 29, attendees have the opportunity to attend a varied selection of events like the return of Lee Burridge’s All Day I Dream series, and a co-hosted Piknic x Boiler Room event amidst their regularly scheduled events.
