New York’s PlayStation Theatre to close

New York City’s stock of live music venues further contracts with the impending closure of PlayStation Theatre. Operated by Bowery Presents, the 2,100-capacity Times Square site will close its doors at the end of 2019 after a four-date run of New Year’s performances by the Disco Biscuits, according to Variety. The closure is reportedly due to the expiration of the theater’s lease.
With the news of its impending exit from the New York City music circuit, PlayStation Theatre joins the ranks of fellow shuttered venues such as Output Nightclub, Cielo, and Pacha NYC.
