Treasure Island Music Festival folds ‘for the foreseeable future’

Noise Pop and Another Planet Entertainment’s Treasure Island Music Festival (TIMF) will not return in 2019, according to a statement from festival organizers. The production companies jointly informed attendees via the festival’s official website that the event is “on hiatus for the foreseeable future.”

Treasure Island formerly thrived as a two-day annual staple in the California festival circuit since its foundation in 2007. The festival hosted 10 consecutive iterations on its namesake island before a Treasure Island redevelopment project introduced logistical issues that required the event’s production team to relocate the affair. Organizers consequently did not hold a 2017 installment of the event, which returned the following year at Oakland’s Middle Harbor Shoreline Park.

Over the past 12 years, TIMF has worked hard to bring music fans an amazing and memorable experience, and we couldn’t be prouder of what our teams created together. Since inception, the event has brought the Bay Area an inclusive festival-going experience filled with a unique and dynamic music lineup of performers from across the globe, while taking place in one of the most beautiful festival destinations in the world
