Ryan Fish’s Everfish project may still be in its infancy but the sound is mature and refined. In just over a year since his first single “With Me,” the San Francisco-based bass producer has slowly but surely crafted a debut EP that spells out much bigger things on the horizon. The multi-genre journey is definitely a sonic odyssey, bursting with cinematic soundscapes and influences from nearly every genre under the sun. The six song extended play dabbles in melodic bass, psy-trance, rock, and dubstep with a rich and textured bed of sound driving each of the EP’s unique productions. Everything here is Fish’s own creation with the aid of vocalists Melissa Kaplan and Nathan Giguiere as well as Daniel Gilbert who lends his guitar licks to the titular track “Odyssey.”   If expertly-crafted genre explorations and some high energy breaks and baselines are your cup of tea, then drink up because Everfish brewed up some magic on this one.
